Oakland, CA. – Authorities have identified Jerry Brunson as victim among the three hospitalized after a deadly crash last month on Interstate 580 in Oakland.

Reportedly, the accident happened on Interstate 580 and Interstate 80 at around 4:30 a.m. on March 19.

Reportedly, the El Cerrito police were pursuing burglary suspect on the 80 freeway when the car they were driving in entered 580 Freeway and drove wrong-way hitting two vehicles head-on.

David Lee Weiner was killed in the wreck. The two suspects, Patrick Scheckells, and the passenger Andre Alberty suffered injuries and were hospitalized.

Brunson was also taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

On April 12th, Patrick Sheckells was arraigned on charges via a video call from his hospital bed. Andre Alberty was arraigned today in Martinez.

He’s in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility and his bail is set at $140,000. A preliminary hearing for Alberty is scheduled on April 24th at 8:30 am in Department 5 in Martinez.

The incident was reported at about 4:30 a.m. on March 19 on Interstate 580 and 80 Freeway.

Weiner was killed in the mishap.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash on Interstate 580 and 80 Freeway at around 4:30 a.m.

Reportedly, the El Cerrito police were pursuing burglary suspect on the 80 freeway when the car they were driving in entered 580 Freeway and drove wrong-way hitting two vehicles head-on.

The driver of a grey BMW sedan was killed in the accident.

Scheckells and Alberty suffered severe injuries. A third person was also hospitalized but their injuries were not disclosed.

Oakland, CA.- One person was killed and three others hurt in a collision involving a wrong-way driver in Oakland on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on Interstate 580 at the MacArthur Maze at about 4:30 a.m.

The CHP said a white pickup truck was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 580 when it collided with a car.

The truck then crashed with a third vehicle.

The driver of the first car that was struck was killed.

The two occupants of the truck suffered serious injuries.

According to the report, the truck was linked to a burglary incident in El Cerrito.

The accident is under investigation.
